Phyllis G. (Jordan) Blythe

Phyllis G. (Jordan) Blythe passed away at 8:32 PM on March 22, 2024 after an extended illness. Just as in life Phyllis was sweet and gracious and waited until all her family members arrived before she passed so she was surrounded by her loved ones. Phyllis was born April 25, 1937 in Jenkins, Kentucky to Ernest R. Jordan and Eloise G. (Johnston) Jordan. She graduated from Peru High School in 1955. Phyllis was in her thirties when she met her soul mate, James Blythe. They married June 23, 1973. They were blessed with two children, Dustin J. Blythe and Jessica D. Blythe. Jim suffered from heart problems and had to have a heart transplant. Phyllis went to work at American Stationery to help support her family. She retired from American Stationery. Phyllis enjoyed reading, mostly biographies, being with her family for activities and especially loved going for rides and sightseeing.

Phyllis is survived by and will be dearly missed and remembered by her daughter, Jessica Blythe, of Peru, Indiana, who was her tireless caregiver and companion for the past three years; and her son, Dustin Blythe (companion Lacy) and daughter Harlow, all of Fort Myers, Florida. Her sister, Sharon “Jodie” Mavrick of Peru, Indiana, three nieces, Donna Mavrick of Palm Bay, Florida, Julie (Fred) Wixon of Montgomery, Alabama, Angela (Max) Glassburn of Peru, along with great-nephew Andrew Wixon, great- niece Stephanie (Jacob) Lambert, great- niece, Whitney (Bryon) White, great- niece Lauren (Merrick) Siblisk, and great- niece Brooke (Keith) Giliberty.

Friends and family will gather for visitation on Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana from 4:00-6:00 PM with a service following at 6 PM.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Scratching Post Cat Rescue of Peru or a charity of your choice.
